8K at The Viceroy (Snowmass)
This spot is a newcomer, we’re glad it’s here. 8k tops our picks for best ambiance. Very chic crowd to complement the decor. The food is fantastic, albeit pricey. Super nice bartenders (look for Justin). It’s especially fun during apres ski, and in summer, don’t miss Nest, the poolside bar.
The Grape Bar (in Hyatt Grand Aspen)
Enjoy a glass of pinot at the bar or have a tete-a-tete by the fire in a very intimate setting. The bartenders make sure you feel welcome. A nice, mellow place.
This is the place to go in town if you want the best seafood. Order the Lobster Bisque and the Sea Scallops! Great martinis too. And people watching. A romantic spot as well.
Cache Cache always delights. Another recently transformed restaurant, this establishment serves delicious food and wine. Great for people watching in the “tres chic” bar area. Draws a more mature crowd.
If you want to see and be seen, and have some really good food and wine, this is your place. Walt manages this almost new hot spot above Syzygy on restaurant row. Everything on the menu is delicious — definitely a top pick with a great atmosphere.
Shadow Mountain Lounge (St. Regis)
Very relaxing locale with a massive granite fireplace, oversized club chairs, rich lodge-style furniture and live jazz or piano—all overlooking magnificent Aspen Mountain. Open til midnight.
A private club, but you can usually find a friend who’ll let you be their guest. You’ll encounter some older men and younger women — or nowadays, some older women with younger men! It’s fun no matter what your age!
