Top PickTakah Sushi

This has been a guaranteed good time since the 80’s (different location).  It’s truly a local favorite, especially on Tuesday nights (local’s social night), for good sushi (caterpillar roll ~ yum!), great sake, lots of locals and fun entertainment (be sure to catch guitarists/singers Cameron and Jai).

Woody Creek Tavern

A one-of-a-kind classic and old stomping ground of Hunter S. Thompson, you gotta visit this place.  The memorabilia on the wall can keep you occupied for hours. Cheap food and cheap drinks make it all the more appealing to locals.

Little Annie’s

Some things never change, and that’s a good thing in this case.  A long time staple.  If you want a delicious burger or perhaps  just a shot and a beer, this is the place to go.

La Cantina

A lively Mexican restaurant that serve the typical fare and then some.  Beware: the margaritas are killers (literally!).  You’ll find many a long-time local sitting at the bar, conversing with the friendly bartenders.

The J-Bar (in the Hotel Jerome)

A classic that’s been around a long time — and a place where locals meet up before hitting the town.  Order the turkey club with sweet potato fries– to die for!

Riverside Grill (Basalt)

A Basalt tradition, the Riverside Grill is best known for its setting by the river. The cheeseburgers here never disappoint…simple, quick and cheap.  You’ll find all the hard-working, down valley locals here during happy hour.

Pine Creek Cookhouse

The Pine Creek Cookhouse is the hard-earned reward to those locals who make the long but beautiful trek up to the Ashcroft area by bike.  You can’t beat the views at Pine Creek – period.  Locals love it as a special getaway in summer or via x-country jaunt in winter.

Zheng Asian Bistro (Basalt / Glenwood)

Zheng is most definitely one of our all time favorites.   It never disappoints.  Some of the best food and the nicest staff in the Valley.  And every day is fun day from 4-6 pm ($7.00 drink and appetizer).  Rock the wok for lunch and dinner.

Cuvee Bistro (Basalt)

One of my all time favorite restaurants in the Roaring Fork Valley.  You’ve got to try the BBQ salmon salad…it’s out of this world!  Everything tastes great at this Basalt restaurant.

Jimmy’s Aspen

Do you want to hang with the locals and have some fun?  Jimmy’s is great for dinner, but even better for hanging with your friends, especially if you like tequila (boy do they have tequila!).  You can salsa and tango on Saturday nights too (and enjoy blues during Sunday brunch).

Zane’s Tavern (Snowmass)

A sports bar, restaurant and most definitely locals’ favorite, Zane’s fun every night.  Play pool, foosball, and of course, Golden Tee or jam out to their Internet Jukebox.  You’ll always find lots of locals hamming it up here.
