The owner, Mary Catherine, and her employees are long time locals who make shopping for the right outfit fun and personable. Distractions is known for their casually elegant clothing, Heidi (owner) just merged Distractions with their sister store “Imelda’s” to offer the ultimate “head-to-toe” shopping experience. Her goal is to offer the personal touch locals and visitors desire amidst all the well-known national chains (Gucci, Fendi, Chanel…) now in Aspen.
Who doesn’t love cashmere? Visit this new store if you crave the ultimate in luxury apparel: a timeless piece of cashmere. Made in Italy — ooh la la.
Sugar Sweet Clothing
Aimee owns this women’s store in Aspen (there’s another one in Glenwood Springs). Cute, fun, affordable fashions. Flirty dresses, bags, belts, leggings, hats, shoes…you name it, they got it. Sugar Sweet sure is sweet!
Pitkin County Dry Goods
A staple in town, Pitkin County Dry Goods opened on 4th of July 1969. Be sure to check out their shearling and leather jackets for those cold, snowy nights in Aspen. Starting in 1960, Olympians Renie and David Gorsuch fell in love, got married, had a family and started selling clothes out of their station wagon. Flash forward: they now have five successful stores filled with finest in apparel. The creme de la creme in town, Gorsuch is your place if you want impeccable style and uncompromising quality. Pricey, though.
On the Hyman Avenue Mall, Quicksilver (surf and skate giant) fits right in with Aspen’s highly fashionable, and highly athletic, crowds. They carry all the latest fashions and accessories for skaters and boarders.
Located on E. Cooper, Kali’s Denim has some really cool, hip clothes for the Aspen shopper. As the name suggests, they offer a great selection of denim, but they don’t stop there. You’ll find lots of good-looking and fashion forward tops to go with those jeans! Bonus? They share a space with Kathryn Penn Designs, so you can find the perfect piece of jewelry to complete your outfit.
Two-time founded this retail store back in the 70’s ~ a long time staple in the Aspen community. Regarded as the leading ski specialty store in the area, they offer skiwear, golfwear, and sportswear — lots of fun bold colors and patterns (as well as ski equipment and rentals).
