While the voice of Phil Long (co-owner) might be new to visitors, few locals are unfamiliar with the musician’s upbeat covers of classic songs (think Elton John, James Taylor, Billy Joel) and more current hits (Five for Fighting, Goo Goo Dolls, Train).  The Red Lion’s front patio is to die for and is the best place to relax and watch the world go by.  He performs two shows nightly in the winter, Wednesday thru Saturday, from 4-6 pm and 9-11 pm.

This is really four places in one: mexican food (SuCasa), billiards, dancing, and cigars.  The younger crowd rock this place into the wee hours.  Always an interesting crowd and a good vibe.

If you want swank, this is your place.  Whether it’s winter or summer, you’ll find locals and tourists hanging by the pool, having a cocktail (or five), and getting their groove on to DJ Dillon.  A great spot for apres ski, especially if you’re young and hip.

The ambiance here is elegant chic and not too loud…you can hear each other talk.  Even if you’re not dining which would be a shame, it’s still the perfect place to have a martini and some great conversation.  Friendly bartenders too.

8K at The Viceroy (Snowmass)

This spot is a newcomer, we’re glad it’s here.  8k tops our picks for best ambiance.  Very chic crowd to complement the decor.  The food is fantastic, albeit pricey.  Super nice bartenders (look for Justin).  It’s a great place to enjoy cocktails and conversation with friends (or strangers).
